Key System Overview
Issue license keys, create public key pages, and control access to protected scripts.
License keys and developer API keys
A license key is used by a player to access a keyed script. A developer API key is used by your server to manage license keys through API v3. They are different credentials and are created in different places.
Key system flow
- A visitor opens your public key page.
- They complete the configured provider steps and any required checks.
- Luaward issues or returns a license key according to the key system's settings.
- The player puts that key before the script's loader call.
Create a key system from the Dashboard, choose its project, configure steps and settings, then publish its slug at /k/your-slug.
Access controls
A key can have an expiry, a note, a Discord id, and a device binding. The owner can ban, unban, or reset a key. Project settings control whether visitors can reset their own device binding and how long they must wait between resets.
See Gateway providers, Device binding, and Checkpoint security.
